Yu Li Ren is a cherry pit which contains oil that lubricates intestines.
Ingredients: Yu Li Ren 鬱李仁 bush cherry pit Semen Pruni Xing Ren 杏仁 apricot seed or kernel Semen Pruni Armeniacae Tao Ren 桃仁 peach kernel, persica Persicae Semen Bai Zi Ren 柏子仁 arbor-vitae seed; biota seed Semen Biotae Orientalis These four herbs end with “ren” which means “seed”. Seeds have oil, oil lubricates the intestines. Moist intestines means moist stools, which slip right out.
Chen Pi 陳皮 aged tangerine peel, citrus Citri reticulatae Pericarpium This herb has a few functions here. All of these oily seeds cause cause things to get too wet in the intestines. Chen pi will dry that up a bit. More importantly, chen pi’s qi movement capabilities help the intestines move more freely.
