Ingredients:

Da Huang :大黄 rhubarb root and rhizome Radix et Rhizoma Rhei [Pregnancy Note]

• An incredible purgative, this herb also clears heat and other toxicity out through the stools.

Mang Xiao :芒硝 mirabilite, glauber’s salt Natrii Sulfas [Pregnancy Note]

• This is a salt that draws fluids in to the large intestine (or prevents its movement outward, actually). This creates more fluids to move dry hard poops outward.

Zhi Shi :枳實 unripe bitter orange, chih-shih Aurantii Fructus immaturus [Pregnancy Note]

• This herb works to regulate the “qi” in the abdomen. Biomedicine might describe this as regulating the nervous system behind large intestine movement.

Hou Po :厚朴 magnolia bark Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis [Pregnancy Note]

• Another herb to regulate the qi in the large intestine, helping zhi shi above to regulate the nervous system responsible for healthy bowel movements.

This formula can be used to support health with or without symptoms. If symptoms are present, take 1 level teaspoon of the powder (8 capsules) three times daily.
