Notes: This was our original Kudzu formula and continues to provide excellent support to those who want to lower their alcohol consumption without giving it up completely.

This formula features a larger dosage of Kudzu root. The formula is actually 50% Kudzu root which, when 5 capsules are taken, provide the same quantity per dose that a university study used recently.

Other herbs in this formula include “tiger cane” or hu zhang. This herb includes resveratrol, though it is added to this formula consistent with its benefits in regards to regulating liver enzymes such that might be needed when exposing the body a night out on the town.

Ge Gen :葛根 kudzu root, pueraria Radix Puerariae

• Using kudzu root in anticipation of drinking has not yet been embraced by the entire medical community, but it has been used in China for hundreds of years to “lift the clear yang” which is part of that buzz you feel when drinking alcohol. This herb doesn’t make you feel drunk, but if that light-headed feeling is appealing to you, you’ll need less alcohol to get there with a steady diet of Kudzu root taken the week prior.
• Kudzu root is also used for loose stools. Sometimes a night of drinking includes a night of overeating. In this case, we got you covered on both ends.

Hu Zhang :虎杖 bushy knotweed rhizome, giant knotweed Polygoni cuspidati Rhizoma [Pregnancy Note]

• This is the famous herb that is being used to produce the newest darling of the dietary supplement industry: “resveratrol”. However in this formula, hu zhang (“tiger cane”) is used to regulate liver enzymes. Helps your liver spring back to life.

Ju Hua :菊花 chrysanthemum flower Flos Chrysanthemi Morifolii

• Mum flowers are used in China to “clear heat from the Liver”. In this case, the application is actually applied to red, bloodshot eyes. The Chinese concept of the Liver says that it is attached to the eyes. So, cooling the Liver will take the red out of your eyes.

Ge Hua :葛花 kudzu flower, pueraria Flos Puerariae

• This is Kudzu flower. Because flowers are thought to be light and dispersing, this herb is said to disperse alcohol toxins out from the body through a light sweat.

This formula is based on research that, after all the calculations are done, ends up with a dosage of 1/2 teaspoon of the powder (5 capsules), three times daily for the few days before consuming alcohol (the research actually went 7 days).
