Good morning, sir. I am ordering two of your kidney herb packets: zuo-gui-wan and you-gui-wan. My question is: can those be taken concurrently? And of course, I don’t necessarily mean during the same time of day either. The herb packet for the right kidney is more of interest to me (for reasons I’d be happy to explain), but I believe I also have problems that would fit under the left kidney description. Also, are you aware of any vitamins, minerals or amino acids that might interfere with the Chinese herbs (a loaded question to be sure, but any advice would be appreciated).
You have a great site, and your willingness to perform free on-line consultations is very generous of you.
It’s perfectly fine to take both of these formulas at the same time. There is a certain amount of overlap between the two if you look carefully at the ingredients.
These two formulas actually get along rather well together because they share a yin/yang relationship. While the left Kidney would represent the fluid metabolism, this “Kidney Yin” also acts as the fuel that the Kidney Yang will burn in order to generate the metabolic heat that it creates.
You can take them together, that’s okay too. My only concern would be that if you start to feel hot all the time, or your face becomes redder than usual, you should back off on the dosage of this Restore the Right pill. These are indications that suggest it is too warm for you. This sensation is something like what some people get when drinking coffee, feeling hot for a while.
As for taking them with other supplements, I am unaware of any issues, but if you want to be careful, just put an hour in between the doses. That’ll keep them separate enough to make sure that each is properly absorbed as they pass down the line.
