The zhi zi gardenia and three herbs that are have the word “huang” in them all taste somewhat bitter. I still believe that tasting the herbs helps them work better, but if you’re sensitive to tastes and you think that you might not take the herbs otherwise, go ahead and get them in capsule form.
Tasting the herbs is good, but taking them is even better.
