You know, in China there is a modern trend that addresses all aging as blood stagnation. Even biomedicine gives baby aspirin to elderly as a preventive for heart disease. Still, much of the benefits of baby aspirin is to address the so-called “inflamaging” which is the theory that inflammatory responses at the level of micro-capillaries is what causes much of what we call the aging process. For this reason, cool or cold blood movers (anti-inflamaging herbs) used as a dietary supplement for the elderly makes a lot of sense.

Only thing I would watch out for is if she is also taking blood thinning drugs. These blood moving herbs might cause too much blood thinning. If she’s only taking some baby aspirin, this formula is okay to take.

Note: this formula is also used to regulate the menstrual flow (same action as above, actually). If you find that your menstrual flow becomes heavy while taking this formula, just stop taking it during your period. Others however will find that cramps improve or other menstrual irregularities become more “regular”.
