Details of Hot Sweating

Rehmannia is powerful herb that regulates reproductive and hormonal activities.

From most accounts, hot flashes during menopause is a real drag at best and at its worse can be dehabilitating. We have several formulas for aspects of menopause but some patients asked for a stronger formula just for the sweating (although it may help anxiousness as well). In Chinese Medicine, fluids (ye) and blood (xue) are constantly exchanged in the (blood) vessels. When the body’s blood heats up in menopause the heat pushes the fluids up and out, causing sweating in the upper body.

This is a variation of the gentler Menopause Thermo Chill Pill . Hot Sweating more directly targets just the sweating although their may be other symptoms. For the emotional aspects, Menopause Emo Chill Pill addresses rritability, depression, insomnia. You can more than one of these formulas at the same time.

We have a stronger formula called Hot Sweating Plus also.

Ingredients

Mu Li 牡蠣 oyster shell Concha Ostreae

Long Gu 龍骨 dragon bone; fossilized vertebrae Os Draconis

  • These two herbs are both calcium based medicinals. I’m not saying that they’ll prevent osteoporosis, that’s kind of an unknown at this point, but we do have 2,000 years of history with these herbs and their ability to regulate sweating.

Huang Lian – coptis Rhizoma Coptidis

  • Huang Lian is probably the bitterest herb in Chinese Medicine and therefore works to drain heat. Because of its bitterness you may want to order this formula as a capsule.

Sheng Di Huang 生地黃 Chinese foxglove root, rehmannia (fresh),Rehmannia root Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae

  • Sheng Di is raw rehmannia, and rehmannia is a thick black herb that grows deep into the ground. This root depth suggests that it can nourish very deeply. This is of great benefit to the hormonal system because it supports reproductive functions and hormones. The raw form of this herb is also good at cooling the blood which will result in more comfort.

Xuan Shen 玄参  Radix Scrophulariae

  • Xuan Shen looks a lot like Rehmannia- Sheng Di – and it has a lot of the same actions of clearing heat while also is supportive of the system, therefore is not only about draining heat. (We leave that to Huang Lian- coptis)

Di Gu Pi 地骨皮 Lycium Bark, Cortex Lycii

  • Di Gu Pi cools the blood.

Bai Zhu 白术 Atractylodes Rhizome, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae

  • This herb is bitter and cold but also benefits the spleen system. By boosting the spleen we can help fluids stay within the body.

Chi Shao 赤芍 Red Peony Root, Radix Paeoniae Rubra

  • Chi Shao is a form of peony that cools the blood more effectively than the “white peony” (Bai Shao).
