This is a rather famous Chinese herb, up there with Ginseng. Its name invokes that of an older man and its actions are said to help one remain young and to turn grey hairs black. We make no claims to this!
It is sometimes taken alone but more often in a formula such as Qi Bao Mei Ran Beautiful Hair .
It is also know as Shou Wu and Fo-Ti.
This herb is a “tonic” so taking too much alone with a body that has dampness or other excesses may cause “stuffiness” especially in the chest.
