• Wu Ji Wan

This is a variation of Zuo Jin Wan (often called 6 to 1 powder) that is used for h-pylori infection. Wikipedia says of “Zuojin Wan (左金丸) is a yellowish-brown pill used in Traditional Chinese medicine to “quench liver-fire, regulate the stomach function and relieve pain”. Indications include an “attack of the stomach by liver-fire marked by epigastric and hypochondriac pain, bitterness in the mouth, heartburn and acid regurgitation, and a dislike for hot drinks””

This herb harmonizes the Liver and Stomach. To put that into modern terms, it regulates the downward moving function of the stomach via the nervous system.

This herb also harmonizes the Liver and Stomach, but mostly focuses on calming the Liver. An upset Liver usually results in the Liver taking it out on the Stomach (in the case of heartburn) and the Spleen (in the case of lower intestinal complaints.) This formula can be used to support health with or without symptoms. If symptoms are present, take 1 level teaspoon of the powder (8 capsules) three times daily.
