Low Grade Fever

Low grade fever means body temperature between 98.6 and 100.4 degrees fahrenheit and is consistent for over two weeks. In TCM, low grade fever also includes a sensation of heat without any increase in body temperature. It is often present in various kinds of chronic infection diseases such as TB, chronic hepatitis, chronic nephritis, rheumatism, cholecystitis, hyperthyroidism, and vegetative neurosis.

Yin deficiency

low grade fever at night, night sweats, five center heat, hot flashes, thirst, dry stool, night sweats, scanty urine, red tongue with scanty yellow coating, thin and rapid pulse

fever: body temperature increases at night or afternoon, but reduces to normal during the day

Yin deficiency with related Yang excess

Qing Huo Bie Jia Tang

fever: patient feels warm, but the body temperature is normal
