This is an effective formula for some specific types of arthritis. We will no longer sell this formula with Ma Huang. It does have 2 problematic herbs, Ma Huang and Fu Zi. We can no longer get Ma Huang. They are safe in the right conditions but I would prefer anyone ordering this has the approval of a licensed Chinese Medicine herbalist.
Gui Zhi Cinnamomi
Releases the Exterior, warms the channels and collaterals to relieve pain, disperses Cold, unblocks Yang, transforms Qi and releases the muscle layer.
Zhi Fu Zi Rx. Aconiti Lateralis Preparata
Disperses Cold., warms the channels, warms the Spleen and dispels Dampness.
Zhi Mu Rx. Anemarrhenae
Nourishes Yin, moistens Dryness, generates Fluids and ameliorates the dryness of tonifying or warming herbs.
Bai Shao Rx. Paeoniae Alba
Nourishes Blood, astringes Yin and alleviates pain.
Bai Zhu Rz. Atractylodis Macrocephalae
Tonifies the Spleen, tonifies Qi, dries Dampness and stabilizes the exterior.
Fang Feng Rx. Saposhnikoviae
Releases the exterior, expels External Wind-Cold and Heat, expels Wind-Cold-Dampness and alleviates pain.
Sheng Jiang Rz. Zingiberis Recens
Strengthens the spreading and mobilizing actions of the other herbs.
With Zhi Gan Cao, harmonizes and regulates the Spleen and Stomach.
Zhi Gan Cao Baked Rx. Glycyrrhizae
Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
