In Chinese there is this great wordย ้ ธ suฤn (pronounced like swan – more or less). It can be applied to all sorts of body parts and situations.
The Wenlin dictionary has these entries for suan:
ยนsuฤn s.v. โ sour; tart | Zhรจ pรญngguว (apple) hฤn (very)โผ. The apple is very tart. โกsore; aching; tingling | Wว (my) yฤo (back) ย โผ le. My lower back hurts. Or ย โ sick at heart; grieved; distressed ย ยฒxฤซn (heart) suฤn (sour)

The Huo Xiang is great for resolving dampness.
The Huang Lian is a very bitter herb that can reduce acid. It is very strong and shouldn’t be over used. It strongly moves downward.
The Jin Yin Hua “detoxifies”
The Bo He (mint) lifts the turbidity from the stomach.
