This is a nice little formula for stomach issues. Despite the name we are trying not to use E Jiao due to its availability and ethical concerns.Ingredients

Huang Lian 黃蓮 coptis rhizome Rhizoma Coptidis

Bai Shao 白芍 white peony root, peony Paeoniae Radix alba [supports pregnancy]

Sheng Di Huang – we are substituting this for the E Jiao:

(not in on-line formula: E Jiao 阿膠 ass-hide glue, donkey-hide gelatin, a jiao, gelatin Asini Corii Colla)

(not in on-line formula: Ji Zi Huang egg yolk)

Huang Qin 黃苓 baical skullcap root, scutellaria, scute Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis [supports pregnancy]

The formula are to nourish fluids while bringing fire and heat downwards. This helps with irritability and can calm the spirit. The heat in the upper part of the body can create this irritability. At the same time heat in the lower part of the body can create bowel disorders such as diarrhea.

This formula can be used to support health with or without symptoms. If symptoms are present, take 1 level teaspoon of the powder (8 capsules) three times daily.
