Description
He Shou Wu (Polygoniย Multiflori Radix)
hรฉ shวu wลซ (ไฝ้ฆไน, flowery knotweed)
Alsoย known asย Fo-Tiย root (or Fo-Ti-Tieng). Legend has it that this helped a ย Mr. Wu’s grey hair turn to black.
Black, of course, being the color of Chinese hair. Thus it is often taken byย older persons. In addition to being found in many gentle tonification formulas it is often found in Chinese shampoos and other hair products.
This is the root and the other parts of the plant are equally useful.
It is very safe to take as a single herb for an overall boost to the system. Be careful if you start to get chest stuffiness which indicates you might be overdoing it.
