Yang Xue Run Fu Yin (Modified Nourish Blood and Skin Decoction)
This is formula is primarily for skin that is itchy and probably dry as well. It is a nice mix of heat clearing and moistening. Herbs like Xuan Shen and Sheng Di both clear heat and generate fluids at the same time. (This is also suitable for cats and dogs.)
(We also offer a Dang Gui free version Dang Gui Free Yang Xue Fu Yin for those who have or have had chemotherapy and taking estrogen medication. Personally I think its very safe but MD oncologists seem to be wary of that herb especially. It also substitutes Bai Zi Ren for the Tao Ren to more strongly make up for the moistening of Dang Gui.)
Dang Gui Rx. Angelicae Sinensis Tonifies Blood, invigorates and harmonizes Blood, disperses Cold and moistens the Intestines.
Dan Shen Rx. Salviae Miltiorrhizae Activates Blood, breaks up Blood Stasis, clears Heat, and cools and nourishes the Blood.
Sheng Di Huang Rx. Rehmanniae Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin and generates fluids.
Bai Xian Pi Cx. Dictamni Clears Heat, resolves Fire-toxicity, expels Wind, dries Dampness, clears Damp-Heat and stops itching.
Xuan Shen Rx. Scrophularia Clears Heat, cools the Blood and nourishes Yin.
Mai Men Dong Rx. Ophiopogonis Moistens the Lung, nourishes Stomach Yin, generates fluids, clears the Heart, eliminates irritability and moistens Intestines.
Tao Ren Sm. Persicae Dispels Blood Stasis, invigorates Blood circulation and moistens Intestines.
Bai Shao Rx. Paeoniae Alba Nourishes Blood and astringes Yin.
He Shou Wu Rx. Polygoni Multiflori Tonifies the Liver and Kidneys, nourishes Blood, nourishes and astringes Jing – stops leakage, relieves Fire Toxin and moistens the Intestines.
